Your situation is quite incredible and indeed concerning.
It is a shame that paypal has failed you for everyone concerned. They lose your business and members lose the ability to pay through them. The reason I say that it is a shame is that I have had cause to use paypal a number of times and the ease and simplicity of their service is, IMHO, the simplest on the internet. I would have been happy to continue to always use their services, but now that I have been made aware of the potential pitfalls of this service, I will no longer even entertain the idea of this. In fact quite the opposite. I will endeavour to ensure anyone I know who deals with paypal know this story and give them a chance to "protect themselves" from potential misappropriation on paypal's side of things. I read your message, and I think its a scam.. I remember getting those same words a few years back when I used paypal to pay on another game site account, I was told to ignore all correspondence from the emails that it was a scam to get your personal information to comment fraud.. and it was not legitimate messages from paypal so I stated deleting them and they stopped sending them to me.. not saying this is the same thing, but there's plenty of dishonesty to go around when it comes to the internet and it wouldn't be the first time someone has tried to scam someone.. It just seems a little too familiar to me.. I would do what you are doing.. but ignore the animated response. If there is a number you can reach paypal at, i'd call them and make a complaint over the phone and explain what has been happening, maybe get a valid email to respond to and forward them the emails to read.. because what I was was getting looked legit, I would have sworn it was paypal...but, because it made no sense to me at all I questioned it.. and found out it wasn't...Just wanted to share my experience with you.. I wish you the best results.. Donna

I recognize a scam when I see it, so I would not be scammed but the information I posted here is shown at my PayPal account as well (when I log in). So it is genuine and that's the worst thing. It proves that PayPal really is a bunch of thieves, frauds and sworn enemies of all honest online merchants.
