Very interesting, I remember it well.
Well Filip, all I will say is you made the right decision Comments (4)
Thank you Ian.

if Ed Trice is broke how can he pay the 21.2 million dollars awarded....
Comment (1)
If he is really broke, he can hardly pay so much. But he should not be able to start another business and if he still owns something, it would be confiscated.
Or at least I think so. I am not sure how it works in USA. Comments (8)
Hmmmm, I am disappointed. More than 12 hours after posting this entry and still no threatening emails? Looks like Ed Trice is really in a big trouble.
Comments (8)
LOL, many of us who have been around since then knew he was a jerk and couldn't be trusted. I'm sure I'm not the only BK user who got silly threats from him too. He deserves whatever he gets. Thanks for the update!
Comment (1)
Shame, too. His uncle (Walter Trice) is a nice enough guy and one hell of a backgammon player.

I see that they're giving away gothicchess.com. Kashapa and I were considering it, but declined because we remembered all the shit from that time. Ed was a dick, and we were wondering what he was trying to pull. Looks like something to stay away from.
Comments (3)
Hmmm, I see no way how to make anything out of that domain. Or did you consider to promote Gothic Chess yourselves?
Comments (8)
We were considering promoting it ourselves, but I was a bit wary that he might come back later and try to pull the same shit that he tried on you, and even moreso now that he's in the shits. You had little to fear with BK being a foreign entity, but there's plenty of loopholes for criminals to start corportations over here.

I understand. But his patent expired 2 years ago, so you can do anything with gothic chess and nobody can sue you for that.
Comments (8)
You can do anything with it hmmmmmmmm
Really, have you thought about taking it back Filip ?? That really would be the icing on the cake Comments (4)
Actually, I don't want to. And I have already deleted the source code containing this game model class.

We have not had a new Chess variant in a while, any thoughts about one ? I may have a look about and see what i can find lol
On a similar note, this new game (ssshhhh) you mentioned a couple of weeks back. If you need a good tester, i am here lol Comments (4)
Something like a chess variant (but it is more like a mix of halma and checkers) will be released soon. Or at least that's the plan.

Thats would be good
Some things here i found yesterday that may be of interest http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/35939 - MindGammon - almost brand new, and i do not know about copyrights. http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4902021.html - Dice Checkers - i can find little on this, but its a 12x12 board(i think). I was thinking more a normal board, and 2 sets of 6 pieces each, numbered 1 to 6. I will work on that. http://www.angelfire.com/games2/warpspawn/Gochess.html - GoChess - another i can fin little on and i think it is where he got the idea of Cheversi - looks good All 3 seem pretty good, and GoChess, the basic code is already there lol Comments (4)
Yes, it would be nice to have more detailed rules for these games. I've just had a quick look at MindGammon but I am not sure if I understand this game at all.

There is a complete rule video of Mindgammon at link below
http://mindgammoninc.com/rules.html You can also play online now at same site. Comment (1)
