Speed test
I have discovered a great tool to measure a network speed between your computer and our servers. It is very easy to use and can provide interesting results, useful for any further investigation.
If you want to, please click the Begin Test button and when the test is done, please add a comment with the download and upload values, along with your location. It would be great if these tests are performed more times during this weekend and Monday.

just for kicks, tried a San Francisco, got 5318/349, and with san jose got 6981/361
strange that upload speeds are so much lower and dont change much over distance

I did a test last night, but I forgot to write down the exact result. I think it was something around 160kbps both ways.
I noticed a weird thing with the upload test, though; it shot up to 100% at a very high rate, then it stayed there and the rate dropped significantly before it said it was done. When it first hit "100%", the displayed rate was about double when it ended up as.
I just ran the test on BrainKing again and I got an abysmal 85/67. It doesn't seem to be a fluke, as accessing BrainKing pages seems unusually slow right now, too (slower than it's been at any time this year). Perhaps it's overloaded with people running this bandwidth test?
