i have a suggestion for a variation called aggravation. i suggested it a couple of months ago, but i think it got lost in the feature requests board.
it might be nice because it can be either a 2- or a 4-player game. it can also be 6-player, but that gets a little big and is a longer game check wikipedia. the picture of a game board in the article is one that i just put there. note: the diagonal rows are the same as the ones in the circle in BK's version of ludo the rules i have played with are: 1. a piece can start on a one or a six 2. if you roll a six, you get another roll (without limit), but you do not need to move the same piece with both rolls 3. if you roll an exact number from your first row(your starting spot and the next five spots), you can enter the shortcut (in the center). for example, if you are in the second spot, and you roll a five, you can go in the shortcut. ----captures may be made on the shortcut ----a piece can exit the shortcut only when the player rolls a one. it exits onto the side opposite your starting row (so it is only 8 spots away from its home safe zone) 4. a piece may not pass another piece of the same color as an added twist, 4-player can either be played every man for himself or in teams: players opposite each other are partners and work together. when one partner finishes, his(or her) rolls are used for his partner. the game ends when both partners finish Comments (3)
and this blog wont let me post a link. i wanted to post a link to the picture on wiki. is there a way to allow that?

and i do realize that to do a 4-player game wont be easy because the site is set up for 2-player games, but maybe 4-player could be filed away for future improvements Comments (3)
