Good news, everyone! Almost fifty BrainKing users are already participating in the free membership action and all of them have received their free Brains. Since this action has no limits, I would like to remind that everyone is eligible to participate, no matter which country he is from.

And, in order to give this offer even better support and promotion, I am announcing the following news and improvements:

• It is not a pawns only action, all BrainKing members with all membership levels are welcome. If you manage to get a free Brain Bishop membership, you can either keep it for yourself or donate it to another BrainKing user (or even create a prize tournament with it).


• I have created a prize tournament with 20 Brains entry fee, so it is open to everyone who either has at least 20 Brains or earns them using the mentioned action. The tournament is defined as "random game tournament", which means that the chances to win are the same for all. And the first prize is set to 70% of all collected Brains - for instance, if only 50 players sign up, the winner would receive 700 Brains and swap 600 Brains for a 6 months Brain Rook membership level. Furthermore, the player with 2. final position would get 20% and the third one 10% of all collected Brains.


• Yes, the percentages of the previous point are correct. The maximum amount of Brains to be used for prizes has been increased to 100%, which means that BrainKing keeps nothing of collected entry fees, all Brains get back to the participants. It is another way of our support of these tournaments and I am sure that many players will find this change as a very good one.

We also plan to create prize tournaments of this kind on a regular basis, so it does not matter when you succeed to earn your free Brains. There will be always an open tournament to compete with other participants and win more Brains.

It was a long time ago when BrainKing had created a special action or contest with a chance to win a paid membership for free. Besides a quite positive outcome, these actions had shown that people, who cannot afford to pay for a membership but would like to try it out at least for a month, were willing to do some manual clicking work in a free time, in order to compete among themselves and deserve a prize.

And here it is again. This time, it is not a monthly special action. It is a permanent action which is valid until ended by an official announcement.

First of all, what you can get for free:

• 20 Brains - if nothing else, it allows everyone to participate in BrainKing entry fee prize tournaments and win even more Brains to swap for a real paid membership.
• Brain Bishop membership level at least for a month. Or even for every month if the participant is patient enough.
• A couple of dollars as a bonus.

Now, what you are required to do:

• Make a free registration at one or two sites.
• Make a couple of clicks a day.
• Send a couple of message to Fencer's message box at BrainKing game site.

And finally, what you, most likely, won't get:

• A big amount of money for free. Although it is never absolutely impossible, it is also very unlikely (unless you are very very lucky), ergo the only thing we can guarantee is the package of 20 Brains and Brain Bishop, provided that our instructions are followed exactly as they are listed, step by step.

I would like to point out that this is, at this moment, an experimental option to be tried out by BrainKing players who are not afraid of doing a little work to get a paid membership for free. There is no risk and there is nothing to lose. Furthermore, a friend of mine wants to write a thesis about this aspect of contemporary web and I'll be happy to pass along all interesting personal experiences and opinions.

After 11 great days, spent on Cyprus (a really beautiful country), I am back, well rested and with some news and announcements:

• It is nice to claim that BrainKing is able to live its own life even if it is not fully maintained by administrators every day, mostly thanks to global moderators and BrainKing's automatic functions and operations. However, everything what is controlled by computers can occasionally fail, because nothing like a perfect computer exists. Ergo, I would like to make sure that nothing important has been omitted during my absence. If, for instance,
  • you paid for a membership but the automatic BrainKing-PayPal system didn't activate it after sending the payment, or
  • you won a prize tournament but the prize was not sent to your BrainKing account,
  please contact me as soon as possible and I will fix it. Thank you.
• A new payment option called AlertPay has been added to BrainKing shopping cart system. If you want to order a paid membership on BrainKing but your credit card has been refused by both PayPal and MoneyBookers, try AlertPay and maybe you would be lucky this time. I have recently created a verified business account there, so there should be no problem to send money with this payment option. And if it proves to be a reliable payment gateway, I will integrate an automatic payment process to BrainKing as well.

I have also discovered an alternative way to get a paid membership on BrainKing, even if you have no available money at all. But since it must be explored in details first, it will be officially announced later.

Due to reasons which do not fully fit into an angle of this blog site, I spent the last month working on a side project and such events always have side effects - it is not possible to 100% concentrate on both BrainKing and the mentioned additional tasks. Luckily, this period is over and it is really nice to see that BrainKing can survive even when it is not pedantically maintained on a daily basis. And it is very likely that the side projects will turn out to be advantageous to BrainKing too, sooner or later.

Very well, now to the real topic of this article. Since I am still not satisfied with the international accessibility of BrainKing game site (more precisely, some BrainKing users are not satisfied, my own connection is very good), I have decided to change our serverhousing provider once more because the international line bandwidth of the new one is supposed to be at least tenfold better, not to mention other advantages of a technical kind. And, since to move a couple of permanently high-loaded servers is a little more difficult than to move a laptop from one room to another, this important change will not happen immediately and requires some preliminary tasks.

Let me describe the details:

• The physical relocation is planned on September 2008 and since any changes of this kind can never be done instantly (due to nature of the internet), some downtimes and inaccessibility issues of BrainKing game site may happen (or I should say "surely will happen"). We will try to make the "server not found" events as short as possible and all changes and instructions how to access the site if the standard way does not work will be announce here, at BrainKing.info site.
• In order to make this process as easy as possible to overcome even for non-technical people, I registered a BrainKing.org domain. Please do not go there now, there is really nothing to see. The purpose of this domain is to point it to the new location in advance, so the site would be accessible as BrainKing.org before the other domains (BrainKing.com etc.) are redirected and this change is reflected by DNS servers around the world. I am sure that BrainKing.org is much better to remember than an IP address (which is not known yet, at this time).
• All game timeouts will be suspended during the relocation period. It means that I will turn off the timeout checking process before the "old" server is disconnected and turn it on after I am 100% sure that the new server is up and running with no problems and can be accessed from all countries.

Please note that what I have just written is just an announcement and no special event should happen prior to September 2008. When more detailed information is known, it will be posted to BrainKing Server News as well.
